Continuing Education Audit

The Audit Process - New process effective 2-9-2021!

The Board monitors compliance with the continuing education requirement through an audit system.  The audit will run concurrent with the license renewal process.  If you are randomly selected for the audit, you will receive an audit notice in the mail with your license renewal notice (notices will be sent in late August 2021).  If selected in the random audit, you will be required to submit copies of proof of completion for the required continuing education hours with your license renewal application.  The audit will be for the two-year period of 2020 and 2021.

If you do not receive an audit notice with your license renewal notice, that means you were not randomly selected and you DO NOT submit copies of proof of completion for the required continuing education hours.  You are still required to complete the required continuing education hours and must attest to having completed them on the license renewal application.  You should keep proof of completion of your continuing education hours on file for 4 years from the date of completion of the hours.

Proof of Completion of Hours

Proof of completion of the continuing education hours is either

  • a copy of the completion certificate issued to you by the continuing education provider, or
  • a signed statement of completion by either the continuing education provider or your work supervisor.
  • For academic coursework, a transcript or grade report showing your name, school name, grade earned, number of credits earned, and dates attended is adequate proof of completion.

Retention of Continuing Education Documents

The Board recommends you keep your continuing education documents for 4 years from the date of completion.
